01

contact

Once you have filled out a contact form on the website I will reach back out via email within 48hrs to answer any questions and begin the booking process.

During our communication here we can go over any questions or concerns you may have about the process, what I need from you, where the session will be held, etc.

This is also when we will go over the $50 deposit needed to book your spot (this is waived for end of life sessions).

02

the session

This is it! We meet at our location and walk to the first spot where I'd like to shoot. Typically at a pet session we take a little time to let the excitement or nervousness subside for the pup. I like to give your pup a chance to say hi to me and explore the area (we will also take lots of play breaks during the session to help them with their excitement and energy). This is when the owner will be taking instruction from me on how to handle your pup to get the shots we want.

We will typically move to a few different spots within the location to give the session some variety, So be prepared for light walking.

For human sessions we will go through a number of prompts and poses to help get you a variety of shots but to also keep you moving and having fun throughout your session.

Typically the entire session takes about 1 - 1.5 hours to complete.

03

the gallery

Within the first week after your session I will message some sneak peeks, I know the anticipation is the hardest part! Then four weeks after your session date I will email you a link where you can find your digital gallery. Here you can download full resolution copies of your photos for printing or sharing (be sure to tag me on Instagram and Facebook if you share! I love to see it!).

Your gallery will be available for you to access for at least 120 days and then it will be deactivated to make space for new galleries, so be sure to download your images!

FAQ

This is my first photoshoot, what should I know?

Nothing is required from you except a good attitude! I try to make the process as painless as possible if you are choosing to be in front of the camera. Thankfully at pet sessions you don't have to be the star and it's a lot of fun to make everything all about your four-legged friend.

Everyone always says they have no idea how to be in front of the camera or how to get their dog to behave for a shoot, they can't imagine how it could ever get done. I am here to tell you it is easier than you think and I will guide you through the entire process. I've had the most nervous dads and the most playful dogs in front of my camera and we always make magic.

What Should i wear?

I always tell people to dress in whatever helps them feel the most confident because that energy will show through in the photos. A comfortable outfit that you're happy in will always produce a better photo. If you're choosing to make it all about your pet, I do recommend the dog wear only a slip lead or leash and a flat collar unless they medically cannot have anything around their neck. Harnesses are not as easy to edit out of photos. If your goal is to highlight dog gear, then by all means bring the harness and any other gear you want to try!

Can you recommend any good locations?

When choosing a location for our photoshoot I like to collaborate with the client. Sometimes there is a spot that holds special meaning to you. Maybe a park you went to a lot with family or a trail that you and your pup frequent, and I'm always open to going there for our session. Maybe you want to do it right outside your house for convenience, I'm down for that too! But I also spend a lot of time location scouting around my area and am happy to bring suggestions to you as well.

What if the weather is bad on the day of an outdoor shoot?

I will reschedule shoots due to heavy rain or snow (unless we have agreed to do a winter shoot). I will always do my best to reschedule for as soon as possible. Shooting in light rain is completely fine so long as it's fine for the client, but I will happily reschedule for that as well.

FAQ

Do you travel outside of raleigh?

I am willing to travel up to 4 hours outside of Raleigh for sessions. There is a fee of $1/mile traveled outside of a 50 mile radius of Raleigh, NC.

What Should i bring with me?

I don't provide any props. So if that is a style you like and want to recreate you will need to bring those with you. Things like balloons, blankets, signs, etc.

For pet sessions I always recommend bringing 1-2 of your dogs favorite toys and 1-2 really high value treats. I always bring treats but sometimes they just don't care about what I have to offer and you know what they like best!

my dog can't be off leash?

You may be surprised at how many dogs were on leash for their photo sessions if you look at my portfolio. Photoshop is a wonderful thing. Your dog does not need to be able to be off leash or know any specific commands to do a photo session. I have lots of tricks up my sleeve to make it work.

do you photograph events?

I have done things like photo booths at breweries and family reunions. My rate is a bit different for bigger projects like that but I am always happy to talk about it! I love working events.
